Mass Stabbing In Saskatchewan At 13 Locations – 10 Dead, 18 Injured

On Sunday, one of the greatest mass stabbing occurred in two towns northeast of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. At least 10 people were killed and 18 have been injured in a series of stabbings on James Smith Cree Nation and in Weldon.

The RCMP has named Damien Sanderson and Myles Sanderson as suspects in the stabbings. A manhunt for Myles Sanderson continue throughout the Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba as RCMP has issued a dangerous persons alert.

Latest RCMP Update:

Damien Sanderson has been found dead. The Saskatchewan RCMP is still looking for Myles Sanderson, who is 6 feet 1 inch tall and 240 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He might be hurt and need medical treatment. He might be driving a black Nissan Rogue with the licence plate SK 119 MPI. It is uncertain if he is travelling alone.

New RCMP Instructions: The general public should use caution. Avoid approaching questionable people and submit any information to your local police or 911 in an emergency.

What happened so far

Rhonda Blackmore, commanding officer of the Saskatchewan RCMP said “There may be additional injured victims who transported themselves to various hospitals. We are currently actively looking for [them], dedicating maximum resources to this.”

Damien Sanderson, 31, is described as a 5’7″, 155-pound man with black hair and brown eyes. Myles Sanderson, 30, is a 6-foot-1, 240-pound man with brown hair and brown eyes. They are armed and dangerous, so do not approach them.

Saskatchewan Stabbings

Myles and Damien Sanderson were last seen in a black Nissan Rogue with the Saskatchewan licence plate 119 MPI. They are thought to be in Regina, although this has not been confirmed.

RCMP mentioned on their website on 2022-09-04 12:07 p.m:

The RCMP received a report that the suspects were driving a black Nissan Rogue with SK licence 119 MPI in the Arcola Ave area of Regina, SK approximately 11:45 a.m.

RCMP Instructions:

Take care and consider sheltering in place if you are in the Regina area. Do not leave a safe place. Allowing someone into your home should be done with prudence. DO NOT GO UP TO SUSPICIOUS PEOPLE. Please do not pick up hitchhikers. Call 9-1-1 to report suspicious people, crises, or information. Do not reveal police station locations.

Charges

The Saskatchewan RCMP has now charged both individuals as a consequence of the continuing investigation.

Myles Sanderson is charged with three charges of first-degree murder under Section 235(1) of the Criminal Code, one count of attempted murder under Section 239(b), and one crime of break and enter – home under Section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

Damien Sanderson is charged with one crime of first-degree murder under Section 235(1) of the Criminal Code, one count of attempted murder under Section 239(b), and one offence of break and enter – home under Section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
