Stephen Curry delivers another major scoring night
Stephen Curry’s 41-point performance came less than two weeks after he scored 44 against Minnesota, a game in which he tied LeBron James with his 15th 40-point outing since turning 35.
Saturday’s total moved Curry ahead of James for the most such games in NBA history, according to the milestone context published by the league earlier this season.
This is an inference based on Curry’s 41-point result following the previously documented tie.
The performance also continued an early-season run in which the 38-year-old guard has remained one of Golden State’s primary offensive options alongside rookie forward Yaxel Lendeborg.
The Warriors identified Lendeborg as their second scoring option in their November fan guide.
Warriors survive an overtime test
Golden State entered the game having won six consecutive games after opening the season with three losses.
The victory over Orlando pushed the streak to seven and kept the Warriors moving forward during their November home stand.
The overtime finish made the result more demanding than a routine home win, with the Warriors needing an extra period to put away the Magic.
The final score was Golden State 126, Orlando 119.
Golden State’s home schedule continues with another game at Chase Center on Monday, November 9, before the team begins a five-game road trip later in the month.
What the result means for Golden State
The Warriors’ seven-game run has changed the tone around a team that began the campaign 0-3.
The winning streak now includes victories against several early-season opponents and has given Golden State valuable momentum before its upcoming road stretch.
Curry’s scoring form is particularly important because the Warriors are balancing an experienced core with a larger role for Lendeborg, the team’s 11th overall pick.
Golden State said Lendeborg had become the first Warriors rookie since Curry to record three consecutive games with at least 25 points.
For Orlando, the loss added to a difficult visit to the West Coast.
The Magic had also faced injury concerns entering the matchup, making the overtime defeat another demanding result early in the regular season.
The Warriors and Magic are scheduled to meet again later in the 2026-27 regular season, giving Orlando an opportunity to respond in the season series.
For now, Golden State leaves the matchup with a seven-game winning streak and another landmark scoring performance from Curry.
